Fair enough, you get less product from the drugstore brand but with outstanding quality at such a low price, I can’t complain!Īll in all, the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define product is absolutely amazing! If you don’t fancy splashing out on Tarte Shape Tape then this is definitely a great alternative. The Makeup Revolution Concealer retails at just £4!!! C’mon, how cheap is that?! Its a massive difference in price compared to Shape Tape, retailing at £22. Left: Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define in C1 I feel that both shades are so alike except C1 has a slightly pinkier undertone than Fair-Neutral the shade Fair could have probably been a perfect match but I’m not too sure. The shades I bought from both Tarte and Makeup Revolution were a good match for me, I have Shape Tape in the shade Fair-Neutral ( the second palest shade) and the Conceal and Define concealer in the shade C1 ( the palest shade). The Conceal & Define product comes in 18 shades which is more than Shape Tape which only has 14. I found that neither of these concealers crease throughout the day and are very longwearing my makeup stays put all day. In regards to the finish of the concealers, I’d say that Shape Tape dries matte where as Conceal & Define dries semi-matte. Once blended in, you wouldn’t even be able to tell which concealer is which as they look identical on the skin. They both do an equally good job at brightening my face and minimising the appearance of blemishes and dark circles.
When applying it to the skin, it appears to look more sheer than the Shape Tape but it blends in pretty much the same.
DUPES FOR TARTE SHAPE TAPE CONCEALER FULL
When it comes to coverage, I cant say wow enough! Shape Tape is my holy grail concealer and has unbelievably full coverage so I thought it would be hard to find a product that would come close but yep, Makeup Revolution have done it! The Conceal & Define concealer has a thick consistency ( not quite as thick as Shape Tape) and is very creamy, having a whipped-like feel to it. They’re great for getting a lot of coverage on the areas that need the product and for spreading over larger areas like under your eyes.Īs it says in the name of the product, the Makeup Revolution concealer can also be used to add definition to your face too, meaning it can be worn as a contour product I think is a great idea and I will more than likely be purchasing a darker shade in the future. Conceal & Define and Shape Tape have extremely similar applicators, both having large, cushion-like doe foot ended wands.
I personally think that this is the best kind of applicator to have on a concealer as it is comfortable, soft and soaks up the product well. When you open the concealer, you’ll see that the wand has a doe foot applicator. The concealer is fairly small with only having 3.4ml of product in which is a big difference in comparison to the Tarte Shape Tape concealer which holds 10ml, however a little does go a long way. The packaging is simple but pretty with plastic tubing and metallic rose gold detail on the lid and the label. ( I believe that these are the only two places you can buy this concealer from). When I received the product, I found it didn’t come in a little box which for some reason I thought it would have it just comes as it is. I ordered Conceal & Define from as it was constantly out of stock in Superdrug and on their website. Imagine if there was a product that was just as good but at a fraction of the cost, sound too good to be true? A few weeks ago, beauty vlogger Holly Boon (Instagram: did a Youtube video reviewing the new Conceal & Define concealer by Makeup Revolution and she was shook by how similar the two concealers are. Since then, I’ve seen many people go crazy for it! Makeup Revolution is a drugstore brand well known for creating dupes of products from high-end brands. After watching other women try this concealer and claim it as a dupe of Shape Tape, I’d thought I’d see for myself and try it out.
The Shape Tape concealer by Tarte took the makeup world by storm with so many beauty influencers and MUA’s swearing by it as one of the best concealers ever to go on the market.
